GW18 crept up on us quickly, no sooner had the double GW of week 17 finished, here we are running into the festive period, with a banger of a weekend.
Saturday sees Chelsea v Everton, Liverpool v Brighton boh kick off at 15:00. Chelsea having thrown away a european lead and Everton, well, uhmm, having the week to prepare for this game. 5th versus 7th, who would have thought! Moyes doing a cracking job on his return to Everton, West Ham fans must be blowing those bubbles even harder now.
The other 3PM is 8th versus 10th, with Brighton recent clean sheets, apart from their last game! pushing them up the table (Dunk anyone?) Salah returns to the Liverpool squad, but will Isak start?
Burnley v Fulham is the early evening kick off, Fulham picking up some decent form recently, with a certain Welsh forward scoring a worldy last week. The biggest question on everyones minds is just how many goals with Arsenal score at home against a dire Wolves? We’re going for 4! With a Saka double!
Sunday has a few more fixtures, 2nd play 4th, Palace entertain City, a cracking prospect, really looking forward to this one. Will a solid CP defence keep out the goal machine that is Haaland.
Forest play Spurs, how many managers lost faith in Simmons (uhmm me) but he’s picked up a decent run of form, so maybe time for those new sealed bids? Next up! a North East derby, I would love to be at this one, Sunderland the surprise of the PL this season, powered by the still under-represented Xhaka. Has their bubble burst after the mauling at City last week?
A Claret of entertainment is next up, as a very decent looking Villa, with Watkins firing again, go to West Ham, who are once again back down in the relegation spots. We sweep up the Sunday with Brentford entertaining Leeds, DCL on form again, Leeds refusal to die attitude, might give us another high scoring game, although Brentford haven’t scoed in their last two.
Monday night football, yes once again, we head to the theatre of dreams! Utd and Bournemouth do battle, I simply have no idea how this will pan out!
Arsenal v Wolves 13th December 2025 – Saka assist (x2) for rebound off Johnstone and also cross that results in Mosquera OG
West Ham v Villa 14th December 2025– For the Mavropanos OG, McGinn’s cross eludes Watkins to be headed home by the CB. After multiple reviws, by slomo and freeze frame, we can see no touch from Watkins, despite other game’s decisions.
Palace V Man City 14th Dec 2025- Haaland’s penalty followed a foul on Savinho.
Sunderland v Newcastle- 14th Dec 2025– Mukiele crossed for Woltemade’s pinpoint own goal header
United v Bournemouth 15th December 2025 – Dalot cross, ‘saved’ by keeper before Amad heads it home. It did not touch the head of Cunha.
Not Awarded-For the final Bournemouth goal, the ball in for El Kroupi was deemed by Opta to have come from the boot of Diallo not Jimenez, and after querying the award, Opta have confirmed they are certain Jimenez did not cross the ball, so no assist is awarded. As last weeks gameweek is now complete, no changes will be made to scores as the weekly competitions including head to heads have already been calculated
