Some Premier League footballers are in Barbados, some are at Bramall Lane tomorrow.

Whether this winter ‘break’ really works as a concept is probably better discussed elsewhere, but for broadcasters who seemingly couldn’t countenance not having football on for one weekend of the season, they have got their wish, as four games will be played out over the next couple of days.

And there’s a lot at stake at The Amex in particular as Brighton welcome Watford.

Graham Potter’s men have won just twice in their last 14 Premier League outings, a dreadful run that has left flirting with the bottom three.

And a win for the Hornets would take them level on points with the Seagulls, but whether that would be enough to lift them out of the relegation zone will depend on results at the Etihad and Bramall Lane, where lowly rivals West Ham and Bournemouth will be in action.

Of those three sides, we think Watford could pick up at least a point.

Key to that will be the fitness of Ismaila Sarr, who has three goals and three assists in just eleven Fantasy League appearances this term.

Boss Nigel Pearson was giving the 21-year-old Senegalese as much time as possible to prove his readiness for the game, given how crucial he knows he could be to the outcome.

It’s a big day too for Crystal Palace as they travel to Goodison Park.

They are missing key players at a key time – Jeffrey Schlupp, Cenk Tosun and Mahmadou Sakho are all out – and that could hurt their chances of piercing Carlo Ancelotti’s improving rearguard.

The Toffees have only lost once in their last 10 Premier League games – an excellent run that was begun by Big Dunc Ferguson and carried on by the 60-year-old Italian.

And in Dominic Calvert-Lewin they have a frontman who is thriving in his run as first-choice number nine.

Ten goals in just 18 Fantasy League appearances this season is a stonkingly good record, and with his tail up, he looks good to net a few more before the season is out.

And…could he be the man that replaces Harry Kane for England if the Spurs man doesn’t recover from his hamstring strain?
